I've spotted an interesting report on the BBC news website, about a technology conference and there was a snippet from a speaker about how porn is affecting sex education:

Also aiming to provoke was a short presentation about a website called makelovenotporn.com to illustrate the myths surrounding sex.

Presenter Cindy Gallop told attendees "In our culture hard core porn has become a de-facto substitute for sex education. Children have access to it younger and younger."

She noted that some re-education might be needed.

The website encourages people to go online and comment on real life sex versus porn sex.

The more porn invades our consciousness the more it affects how we see men and women not as human beings but as sex objects. Which i think is stating the obvious. But i think this is going to affect the younger generations as they see porn as the way sex is supposed to be, not as love making, but as plain fucking. Like the quote above states, it needs to be emphasised that sex isn't just about fucking it's about a consensual physical act born from feelings between two people. I need to stop there as this is a can of worms waiting to be opened.

Anyway, I was fortunate that when i was in a relationship porn fell into the background. Though saying that the longest relationship i've had has only lasted 6 months, so who know what may have happened had the relationship gone on any longer. I keep my porn to myself, and only once have i shown it to a girlfriend, which i really wasn't comfortable with. It featured Gauge dressed as a babysitter, only like a 10 minute clip and then a clip of Cathy Barry (who as my girlfriend of the time pointed out, looked like a trans-sexual, and now i'm inclined to agree). It was a bit embarrassing really as i didn't want to think that it was this type of girl or girls dressed like that that turned me on. Like most porn it is there purely as a visual thing just to get you off, and relieve the pressure.

This week has been really good, i haven't looked at a porn site since Sunday and not watched any porn since then as well. Now i'm approaching the weekend again and again i'm putting myself to the test. I'm going to rely on my imagination and try and use my head to release the pressure. This may be a long weekend!
